Charles Doty Ranked by Barron’s for “America’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors”

Charles Doty Named One of the Nations’ Top Independent Financial Advisors for the Third Consecutive Year.

Atlanta, Georgia, August 26, 2013 – Charles Doty, President and COO of Asset Preservation Advisors, was named to Barron’s list of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors” in its August 26, 2013 issue. Charles has been recognized as one of the top independent financial advisors in the country for the third consecutive year.

The editors at Barron’s focus on total assets under management and revenue generated by the advisor’s team, as well as the overall quality of the practice, to determine the top 100 practitioners.

Charles is a principal of APA and has been with the firm since 2002 and has over 29 years of experience in the municipal bond business. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and worked for SunTrust Equitable Securities for 16 years, eventually serving as Director of National Institutional Municipal Sales. In 1999, he joined Municipal Trade, an online public finance investment bank, as Chief Operating Officer and President. He is former Chairman of the Board of Prevent Blindness Georgia and is currently a member of the advisory board at Skyland Trail, George West Mental Health Foundation. Mr. Doty is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Southern Municipal Finance Society.

The ranking reflects the volume of assets overseen by the advisors and their teams, revenues generated for the firms and the quality of the advisors’ practices. The scoring system assigns a top score of 100 and rates the rest by comparing them with the winner. A ranking of “N” denotes an advisor who is new to the list.
