Pool Operation

The pool Manager is responsible to the Pool Committee for day-to-day operation of the pool and supervision and scheduling of lifeguards

Please do not register complaints with the guards. Their function is the safety of the pool and our children.

Safety Rules

Guards and Pool Committee members have authority to remove members from pool area at their discretion if member’s conduct is in violation of safety and comfort of Club members. Violators may be subject to suspension and/or revocation of pool privileges if deemed appropriate by the Board and Pool Committee.

  1. All members must sign in the pool sign- in book at the entrance, and must register and pay fees for their guests to Lifeguard. (see Pool Guests for additional info)
  2. Pool personnel is charged with full responsibility of the pool and children’s safety in the pool; however, parents are fully responsible to watch their child(ren) at all times.
  3. No swimming is permitted unless a qualified lifeguard is on duty.
  4. No swimming is allowed in diving area when boards are in use.
  5. Only one (1) person is allowed on the diving boards at a time, and there is no diving off the sides of the boards.
  6. Children wearing Coast Guard certified flotation devices are allowed on the low dive only if a parent is present. No rafts or toys of any kind are allowed in the diving well at any time.
  7. No jumping or playing on the starting blocks. They can only be used by swim team during practices and meets.
  8. Children eight (8) and under are not permitted to use the high diving board, unless they have passed the Safe Swimmer’s test AND a parent is with them at all time. The parent must also notify the lifeguards in advance.
  9. No inflatable rafts are allowed with the exception of single person inter tubes and personal flotation devices. No hard balls, water guns or kickboards.
  10. No running or roughhousing allowed in pool or Clubhouse areas.
  11. Non-swimmers cannot be left unattended at the pool. If a babysitter is used, he/she must be at least thirteen (13) years of age and only responsible for two (2) children. Children who are ten (10) years or older and have passed the Safe Swimmer’s test (see above) may use the pool unaccompanied by an adult, with the permission of their parents, during the hours of operation.
  12. Unaccompanied children ages ten (10) – eighteen (18) are only permitted to have two (2) non-member guests at the pool at a time. (Please refer to Pool Guests section below)
  13. Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests while on premises.
  14. No children over four (4) years old are allowed in the baby pool at anytime.
  15. During adult swim lifeguards will not be on the stand, but will keep the pool under surveillance. No children under the age of 18, including infants, are allowed in the pool during adult swim. Eighteen (18) years of age and older are considered adults.
  16. Children who are not toilet trained or who wear diapers must wear EITHER a swim diaper with a tight fitting plastic cover OR a reusable plastic swim diaper. Swim diaper plastic covers are available from the lifeguards if needed.
  17. The parents of non-potty trained children are encouraged to keep their children out of the big pool. In the event of an accident, the pool must close for 24 hours, and a charge may incur. Parents must report any “accidents” to the lifeguard immediately.
  18. Children under six (6), must be accompanied by their parent to the bathrooms.
  19. Smoking is not allowed in pool area, at any time.
  20. No glassware or china permitted in pool area.
  21. Food and beverages restricted to wooden deck ONLY.
  22. The pool phone is for EMERGENCY USE ONLY. Please ask lifeguards for permission to use the phone and limit your calls to a maximum of two minutes. 
  23. Pets are forbidden in the pool area.
  24. Lifeguard room is for lifeguards and coaches use only.
  25. All above rules will be enforced by the lifeguards. For members who violate the pool rules, the following will be the enforcement process followed by lifeguards on duty:
    1. First offense will result in a verbal warning.
    2. Second offense will result in a suspension of use of the pool until after the next adult swim (out of pool, seated next to lifeguard).
    3. Third offense will result in a 24 hour suspension from the pool. Any child asked to leave the pool more than twice in a season will not be allowed to return unless accompanied by a parent. Additional disciplinary action will be at the discretion of the Board.

Pool Guests

All guests must be registered at the gate by a member and guest fees paid to a lifeguard, upon entering the pool.

Members must be present when guests are using pool and are responsible for behavior of their guests while on premises.

Members’ house guests from out of town: No charge

Members’ guests from Metro Atlanta: $1.00 per person/per day

All non-member residents of Hidden Branches, Hunters Branch, Twin Branches, Trailridge, Dunwoody West, Lisa Lane, Hunters Crossing, Dunwoody Station, Mt. Vernon Estates, Sedgefield, Alden Point and Bellewood cannot be guests of the facilities at any time. Violation of this rule could result in suspension of the Branches member bringing such guest.

Dress

Clean swimming attire shall be worn.
No street clothing is allowed.
“Cutoffs” or blue jeans are not acceptable; no leather belts.
To maintain the chemical balance of the pool, tennis players must shower before entering the pool. Showers are available in the bathrooms.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found articles will be placed in a basket under the pavilion. This basket will be purged every Sunday and any articles remaining will be discarded or given to charity.

Bluetooth Speakers, Smartphones, MP3 Players, Radios, CD players, etc

Only allowed with individual earphones.

Parking

Available in the parking lot ONLY, unless you need to deliver goods to the clubhouse for a function.

Rules Changes/Revisions

The Board and/or Pool Committee may change rules as experience indicates. Changes will be posted on the pool bulletin board and on the website.
