Festival Announces 2013 Line-Up

ATLANTA (April 16, 2013)-The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina marks its 10th season beginning on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, 2013. The event is free and will offer lawn seating (bring chairs or blankets), seating in the restaurant and activities for the kids. The menu options include sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, fries, pizza, nachos, desserts and ice cold beverages (No outside food or beverages please). In between sets, guests are invited to visit vendors who will showcase their goods and services which include travel, home improvement, art, jewelry, clothing, handbags and more. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and festivities wrap up at 8:00 p.m.

The Summer Jazz Series opens Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2013 with featured vocalist, Robin Latimore and her incredible ensemble. Known for her large dramatic voice, Latimore has performed across the globe with a bevy of talented artists including Ronnie Laws, Rachelle Ferrell, Maysa, Jonathan Butler, Phil Perry and Jeff Lorber, to name a few. Her rich voice, engaging delivery and music versatility captivates audiences of all ages and truly creates a night to remember.

The Jazz Series continues on Sunday, July 14, 2013 with the remarkable saxophonist Reggie Hines and his band. Over the years, Reggie has been sought out by various musical artists to share the stage including: Regina Belle, Brian McKnight, Cheryl “Pepsi” Riley, Carl Thomas, Iyanla Vanzant, Zhane, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Wu-Tang Clan, Sybil, Angie Stone, Jill Scott. Hines has performed on the David Letterman Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Tom Joyner’s Sky Show and Cruise. He has taken the festival world by storm performing at the Montreaux Jazz Festival, Bermuda Jazz Festival, Bou Bou’s Jazz Festival in St. Barths, Merengue Soul Festival, Sinbad’s Bermuda Cruise Festival, St. Lucia Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Essence Music Festival, Pori Jazz Festival in Finland and more!

Villa Christina is a restaurant and event facility located just inside the perimeter. The facility features a gourmet restaurant, two elegant ballrooms, two private dining rooms, an exhibition kitchen, outdoor event pavilion and beautiful gardens. The main dining room overlooks the sprawling grounds, exquisite terrace and majestic waterfalls.
