On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., guests can enjoy live jazz featuring sizzling songstress Chandra Currelley in the restaurants beautiful garden while savoring fresh spring fare the whole family will enjoy.
Villa Christina celebrates the 8th annual Summer Jazz Series with legendary vocalist Chandra Currelley. Currelley was the former lead singer of the S.O.S band. Her music is influenced by R&B, Jazz and Gospel with an energetic and engaging vitality. Along with her dynamic band featuring on bass, Anthony “TC” Cunningham (Kelly Price, Toni Braxton), on drums, Marcus Williams (SOS Band, Isaac Hayes) and guitarist, Derek Scott (Gerald Albright), together they create an exciting experience that transcends all genres. Chandra Currelley’s recordings include a duet with Roy Ayers entitled “Let Me Love You”, plus two CD’s recorded with the legendary SOS Band yielding 2 top ten Billboard singles from “Diamonds In The Raw, the top 5 Billboard single “I’m Still Missing Your Love” and from “One Of Many Nights”, “Sometimes I Wonder”. Chandra’s solo CD’s are “Love Songs” and “The Real Me”. Chandra’s hit single “Love Again” from Tyler Perry’s movie “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” has won her rave reviews and is her favorite song to date.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and music begins at 5:30 p.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for comfortable seating. Children of all ages are welcome and will be delighted by free activities including a moonwalk and face painting. There will be a variety of exhibitors whose products and services will be available for purchase including exquisite handmade jewelry, original artwork and more.
A delicious variety of food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be offered by Villa Christina for purchase on the premises. Nibble on light delicacies such as pasta and salmon salads, or feast on gourmet burgers stuffed with special seasonings, plump hot dogs with French fries, or real Italian-style pizza straight from the wood-burning-oven. Be sure to save room for an incredibly indulgent dessert such as tiramisu or cheesecake. No coolers are allowed on the grounds.
Villa Christina features a gourmet restaurant, two elegant ballrooms, two private dining rooms, an exhibition kitchen, an outdoor Event Pavilion and “Caffe Christina to go”.
